  1. What kind of church is this?
    Newstart Community Church is committed to bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to the Powell/Polaris area in a culturally relevant format. We use music, drama, and preaching to reach those who do not have a relationship with Jesus. Newstart is a place that you can come, worship, work, and be a part of a church without tradition or fluff. We believe that the Bible is true, and that it has application for our lives today. We believe that God desires our worship, and we gather together each Sunday morning to do just that. Come join us, and get a new start for yourself!


  2. What should I wear?
    Casual dress is the usual around Newstart. There is no reason to break out your suits, ties, or dresses, unless you want to!


  3. How long will the service last?
    The weekend service at Newstart typically last no more than an hour & 15 minutes, with the average service coming in at around 65 minutes.


  4. What will the service be like?
    For our Sunday Celebration Services, drama, multi-media, modern music and practical messages are used to present the timeless truths of Scripture.


  5. Will I have to say anything, give anything, or be singled out in any way?
    At Newstart, you can rest assured you will never be put on the spot, never singled-out, and never embarrassed. Further, if you are a guest, you will be encouraged to not feel obligated to participate in the offering. Our hope is that you will let the service be our gift to you!


  6. What about my kids - do they come in with me, or is there something going on for them?
    Our children's ministry, Kingdom Kids Club, provides an exciting, quality experience for your newborn through 5th grade child during the service. This allows you to maximize your experience at Newstart while your child is receiving high-levels of care and attention.


  7. Is this a Christian church, or something else?
    Though non-traditional in style, Newstart Community Church is deeply committed to the eternal truths of the Christian faith. Our vision is simple: to become a biblically functioning community of believers so that Christ's redemptive purposes can be accomplished in this world. Our mission is equally clear: to turn irreligious people into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
