What is Night to Shine?
Night to Shine was started by the Tim Tebow Foundation in 2014 as a way to provide a prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs. Our prayer is that Night to Shine is not just a night of celebration but a night when people with disabilities experience God’s love and understand their value and worth.
Who can register?
Anyone with special needs ages 14 and older can register for Night to Shine. These are our “Honored Guests”.
Who can volunteer?
Many volunteers are needed to put on Night to Shine. Not only do we pray that our Honored Guests will shine on this evening, but that all volunteers will shine as the light of Christ shines through them as they show love to the special needs guests we are honoring. All Honored Guests will be paired with their own “Buddy”, and will be one-on-one throughout the evening. Buddies must be at least 18 years old.
Other volunteers are needed to help in the kitchen, serve dinner, assist parents and caregivers who are staying for a “respite” evening, cheer for the Honored Guests as they walk down the red carpet, and many other very important positions. Please check the ones you are interested in when you fill out the “Volunteer Registration.”
All volunteers will be expected to participate in a volunteer training session closer to the event. Volunteers age 18 or older will need to complete a background check; we will contact you about this by email.
Volunteers younger than age 18 will need to have a permission form signed by a parent.
